Bedroom Wall Unit for Media with Storage

Scott Jordan Furniture has been making furniture in the New York City area for more than thirty years and we are more than happy to offer our expert design advice based on those many years of furniture making. For example, this recent composition was completed for an Art Deco era Manhattan Apartment. The middle section houses a large flat screen television that will be mounted to the wall with storage underneath for electronic equipment. Using an all mortise and tenon construction for the primary joinery, this case also features our platform base with a through dovetail joint. It is made using only the finest select Pennsylvania Cherry and finished in a natural hand-rubbed application of oil and wax.

Solid Walnut Media Cabinet from our Workshop

Made from all solid American Black Walnut

Our design team at Scott Jordan Furniture had the pleasure to collaborate with a very enthusiastic client to craft this media cabinet. The unit features a middle section suited for a flat screen television with flanking cabinets left and right. It is suited for ample storage of audio equipment, books , or your own particular collection. The top panel is highlighted by corbels and a beautifully detailed edge profile. The cabinet is finished with natural oil and wax which accentuates the grain of the wood.

The cabinet was made in our own Brooklyn workshop from sustain-ably harvested solid American Black Walnut from southeastern Pennsylvania. We enjoy such collaborative projects and will be happy to discuss your particular needs.

Each piece made in our Brooklyn workshop is hand crafted and tailored specifically to our client’s needs.

We have developed techniques employing computer controlled machinery to produce a wide variety of solid wood furniture and fittings in in infinite variety of shapes and sizes at a cost compatible to mass production but with a fit and finish that mass producers could only dream of.

Another advantage to our method of production is the ability to produce unique, site-specific cabinetry of the highest quality tailored precisely to the dimensions of the intended location and functional needs

We generally work in American cherry, walnut, or maple finished with a natural, hand-rubbed oil and wax treatment. The wood is harvested from sustainably managed Pennsylvania forests

Red Oak Plasma Console from our workshop

This Red Oak Plasma Console was recently completed in our Brooklyn Navy Yard workshop. It is styled with arched glass doors and an open center section. The construction, typical of our work, features all mortise and tenon joinery with a through dovetail box. The open center section was made to measure for our clients stereo equipment, ported in the rear for outlet access. Finally, everything was finished in a durable, hand rubbed, oil finish.

Maple Corner Woodworks, Harvest Moon Plasma Console

Robin Chase handcrafts all of his Harvest Moon Plasma Consoles from his Maple Corner Woodworks workshop in Calais, Vermont. Providing an elegant platform for electronic components, the hand sanded tapered side posts, graceful arched bottom rails, and inset walnut pulls are sure to provide a lifetime of sturdy enjoyment. The piece shown below measures 68″w x 26″h x 24″d with doors and an open middle section with adj. shelves in solid cherry. It is also available at 49″w or 80″w, with or without doors, or with drawers.

Media Inspired Wall Unit

This project was recently made to house our clients vast collection of vinyl records. For maximum efficiency, our workshop styled the middle console especially for access to media components.
