Scott Jordan has been crafting fine cherry furniture in Brooklyn, New York for over thirty years. During that time a common thread has woven itself through all of our work; an eye for detail, using time tested methods of solid wood construction, mortise and tenon joinery and dovetailed drawer boxes. Our furniture is made one piece at a time using state of the art manufacturing tools and precesses according to the needs of each individual client.

Brooklyn Made Lingerie Chest in American Cherry

All of our casework is created using time tested methods of construction using all solid wood. Typical of our work, this means an exclusive use of all mortise and tenon joinery with through dovetailed drawers. All of our primary construction features beautiful, local, and sustainably harvested American Black Cherry. We also use Walnut, and Sugar Maple.

This lingerie chest pictured here is a recent addition to a clients home, personalized for their storage needs. It is a 23″ wide case that has been made to a generous 20.75″ depth, perfect for maximizing storage and minimizing footprint. With this drawer configuration the total overall height is approximately 60″.

During Copeland Furnitures many periods of growth, the company has changed from a one-man operation in an old garage in East Corinth, Vermont, to a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located on the banks of the Connecticut River in Bradford, Vermont. Using a combination of leading-edge computer technology and traditional craftsman technique, they have created an enterprise embedded in a local community, with a sustainable, positive, and low impact approach towards making furniture. Double 7 Drawer Prairie Dresser from our Brooklyn Workshop

The dresser shown is 2 of our Prairie 7 Drawer Dressers joined under a single top. This method allows us to construct large storage cabinetry that can be disassembled into parts for transport yet appear as a unified whole. It was made in all solid American Cherry with an oil and wax finish. Notice that the drawer fronts across the entire width are made from continuous single piece boards. Prairie Style 9 Drawer Dresser from Brooklyn

ThePrairie nine drawer dresser is one of several configurations of this design that we craft in our Brooklyn workshop. Our standards for this item call for single board drawer fronts with flow matching across the drawers on the same row. We also select only heartwood for the exposed surfaces. This dresser measures 69 3/4″ w x 20 3/4″ d x 36 1/4″ h.

Prairie Style Eleven Drawer Dresser

The Prairie eleven drawer dresser is of very generous proportions. Our standard for Prairie dressers call for matched single width Pennsylvania cherry boards across each course of drawers; only heartwood on exposed surfaces. Other Prairie dresser configurations include the nine drawer and the seven drawer dresser. The drawers are crafted from solid maple featuring dovetailed joinery. We made the drawer bottoms and the cabinet backs from a veneer-core ply for strength and stability. The eleven drawer dresser shown here uses brass ring pulls made by Horton Brasses in Cromwell Connecticut.
